Keto Pizza

OK, I know some of you are going to say that this is not even a recipe.

I am not one of those people who is in to making alternatives for crusts, tortillas and bread. I find ways to live without it. If I can’t have the real thing, forget it.

I really crave pizza. I got the idea for this when I discovered that one of our local pizza places actually has a low carb pizza on the menu, no crust. It has low carb pizza sauce, toppings, and a ton of cheese.

DING, DING, DING!!!

Now I make it for myself at home a lot, especially for lunch. You can put whatever you want on it, but check your carb counts. I usually include olives and mushrooms as my “vegetables” and load up on meats like pepperoni and sausage.

Be careful with the pizza sauce!! Try and use a low carb one, like Rao’s, and only use a small amount.  It can really jack up your carb count.

The way I make it, it comes in at 286 calories and 5.8 grams of carbs, mostly from the sauce!

Ingredients
  • ¼ cup Rao's marinara
  • Pepperoni
  • Sliced baby bella mushrooms
  • Sliced ripe olives
  • Shredded mozzarella
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400F
  2. Spray a pie plate with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Spread marinara on bottom of pie plate
  4. Layer mushrooms, olives and pepperoni, and then top with mozzarella.
  5. Bake for about 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted.

  1. Hi Kary, can you tell me how many servings are in this recipe? I see the kcal and carb info, but is that for 1/5, 1/2, 1/3 of the pizza? Thanks so much, as I am T1 diabetic and need to know that carbs/serving. Love your website!
